Miles Smith Family

Miles Smith was the thirteenth child of William and Rachel. In the 1910 census, his name was mistakenly recorded as “Miler,” but it appeared correctly in the 1920 census. By 1927, he had left home and was employed by the Knoxville Power and Light Company in Knoxville, Tennessee. According to the Tennessee State Death Record below, Miles was tragically killed after being struck by a truck on November 2, 1927. He was listed as married and 21 years old.  No records were found indicating the name of his wife or that he had any children.
